alright there, my name's jay

i found out about this just recently because, well, exploration is fun! and that's what >lidar is about.

the best thing about learning how to develop a game using an engine like heaps.io is using the little documentation and resources provided, and scavenging together what you can find in order to make something work out

before this point:

  • i had no idea how to make a back-end (saves, debugs, etc) using haxe
  • i had no idea how heaps handled scenes, or what to make in order to even get a simple main menu running
  • i had no idea how to even really get started with a heaps project

what you can learn from this >devlog:

  • don't be afraid to ask for help from the haxe community, some people are willing to help, but you have to problem solve on your own to properly understand
  • help for programming =/= other people programming for you, programming is an effort to problem solve using the keyboard in front of you
  • look at documentation, api elements, from haxe, or from heaps, or even your favorite engine, because almost every open source engine has one! read it, and figure out how it all works out!
